No Union County 24-Hour Feed
The Union County Sheriff's Office does not publish a page that lists all jail releases from today or the prior 24 hours. Its official Inmate Inquiry is a current-custody search. The inspected navigation has no Released, Recent Releases, 24 Hour, or 72 Hour control. The separate Daily Bulletin reports incident and arrest activity. It is not a release log and should not be read as one.
A same-day check must focus on one booking event. P2C details may show a Release Date along with the arrest date, next court date, image, and total bond amount. The release field is useful when the detail remains available. UCSO has not published a refresh schedule or a retention period for released details, so no one can reliably turn the current screen into a complete 24-hour list.
The absence of a feed also means there is no official daily total to quote. A search can confirm a named person's event, but it cannot establish how many other people left Union custody that day. Keep the claim as narrow as the record.
Check a Union County Release
Begin with the last known custodian and the exact booking. This avoids mixing two people with the same name or treating a later arrest as part of an earlier release. The full Union County released-inmate search path is useful when custody may span more than one agency.
- Search P2C by first and last name. Match the arrest date, booking agency, primary charge, age, race, and sex before opening Details.

The observed P2C detail layout uses a transient person URL. Treat its labels as evidence of the schema, not that URL as a permanent record for a named person.
Request Union County Release Records
The formal fallback is the Union County public-record request portal. Ask for an existing record tied to one person and event. Include the full name, known aliases, arrest or booking date, facility, and booking or incident number if known. Request the recorded release date and time, release disposition or last movement, releasing facility, transfer destination to the extent public, and booking image if needed.
North Carolina public-record rules call for access at reasonable times and copies as promptly as possible after lawful fees, but Union County promises no fixed turnaround. A broad demand for staff to create a custom list of everyone released today may fail because the County need not create or compile a record that does not exist. Union Release or Custody Transfer
A release is from a particular custodian. It does not always mean return to the community. A person may post bond or complete a local custodial event, move to NCDAC after a prison commitment, transfer to Cabarrus County under the overflow arrangement, enter another jail, or remain held under another agency's detainer. Union's current-list disappearance cannot distinguish those outcomes.

When Union Bond Becomes Release
UCSO's Courts/Jail Bureau oversees pretrial release, but a bond amount is only one part of that process. An official February 2026 UCSO release statement described the stronger sequence: secured bond was set, release conditions were met, and the agency expressly said the person was no longer in custody. That last fact is what a same-day search must confirm.
Bond release can end the jail event while the criminal case remains pending. The next court date and court file still matter, yet neither supplies the physical exit time. Ask the jail for the recorded release event, then use the court record to understand the legal reason. If a new arrest occurs later, treat it as a new booking with its own dates and do not carry the prior release forward.

Union P2C Release Data Quirks
Union's Superion P2C is built around current Inmate Inquiry results. That design explains why a person-specific detail can be useful without becoming a full recent-release list. The system exposes Release Date on the detail, but UCSO publishes no official update cadence, no retention promise, and no released-window filter. A check should record when the screen was viewed and which booking it matched.

A person can appear in arrest activity without any matching release fact. Use the event's P2C detail, jail confirmation, or preserved record for the exit.
Union Sheriff App and Releases
The official Union County Sheriff's Office mobile app is an OCV outreach tool. Its existence is verified, but authoritative research did not establish a working 24-hour release list, a 72-hour release view, or a dependable photo search. The app should not be used to promise coverage that UCSO has not documented.
UCSO news is more useful for a small set of featured events. Some official stories retain a booking graphic and may state that release conditions were met. They can corroborate that one event, but the archive is selective and cannot answer who else left the jail that day. P2C, VINELink, jail staff, the court file, and the records portal remain the same-day confirmation chain.
